“Hyundai and Supernal’s Flying Taxi Cabin Design for Efficient and Comfortable Travel”

Jakarta

The automotive industry in the future will be even more interesting to watch, here, detikers. In line with the era of electrification, the era of flying cars has also come.

As quoted by autoevolution, the United States (US) is currently busy developing vehicle technology or flying taxis — which are often referred to as eVTOLS (electric vertical take-off and landing).

This is what makes various well-known automotive companies try and predict how to design a flying car or flying taxi cabin, which is efficient but has the best comfort and safety.

One of them is the flying car company Supernal, which has produced a comfortable and safe flying taxi cabin. Supernal is a spin-off company from AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) which was founded by Hyundai in 2020. AAM is focused by Hyundai on the development of electric vehicles and flying taxis.

This move comes after flying car company Archer Aviation said it would manufacture its air taxis to be manufactured by Stellantis, and Joby would use Toyota-made components for its flying taxis.

The design they developed recently won the highest award from the International Forum (iF) Design Award competition, which was held in Berlin, Germany.

The flying taxi cabin design from Hyundai is considered to offer a comfortable flight experience to future passengers, in addition to presenting an efficient and emission-free journey. Even cooler, this design is explained using a variety of the best materials, including vegetable leather, recycled plastic, and carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic, which can be recycled. Even the seat frames should have been made with raw materials left over from the manufacture of the fuselage.

Unlike other air taxi companies which target to operate flying taxis in 2025, Supernal will only operate their first electric air taxi in 2028.
