The 53e French Olympic Week in Hyres will take place from April 23 to 30. For the first time in France, the SOF will bring together on the Hyres lake the 10 series that will be presented in Marseille for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Christophe Gaumont, SOF Event Manager: “For the first time in France, we are going to sail the 10 2024 Olympic series on the same body of water. It will be a great sporting event but also a great show. Of the 10 series presented, 5 are equipped with foils. It will notably be the first time that we are going to host the iQFOiL for men and women. In this new configuration, the SOF will take place with perfect parity.
The enthusiasm will be strong, because we are only 3 years away from the games. The preparation period is therefore reduced by one year compared to other Olympiads. Performing on the Hyres body of water, a body of water unanimously appreciated by the competitors, will allow everyone to place themselves in the world hierarchy. Enrollment should be plentiful.
Organized by the French Sailing Federation with the support of the city of Hyres and the Toulon Provence Mediterranean metropolis, the French Olympic Week is a historic Olympic sailing race of international scope and will be the first French milestone in view of the Olympic Games in Paris, whose sailing tests will organize Marseilles.
