Famous eSport reporter and insider, Rod “Slasher” Breslau announces that the French giant Ubisoft is preparing the launch of a new Battle Royale to match that of Apex Legends. Developed under the code name Prisma Dimensions by Ubisoft Montreal teams (Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs), this free-to-play multiplayer FPS set in a futuristic world will be released under the commercial name of Hyper Scape first on PC, then on Sony and Microsoft consoles, with in particular cross-play, a feature that players want to see present as soon as a Battle Royale comes out on several platforms.
Hyper Scape will first be accessible via a closed beta then an open beta from next week and finally a full launch for July 12, the same day as the Ubisoft Forward conference.
Still according to Slasher’s sources, Hyper Scape was developed with the streamers in mind as part of a partnership with the Twitch platform in order to set up “integration levels never seen before”. Note that the Twitch chat could have a direct impact on the game with game-changing events. Finally, Ubisoft invited hundreds of streamers, professional players and youtubers, as well as probably the specialized press, to test this new Battle Royale in order to reveal the first images of gameplay later in the week.
