Hygienists ended the children’s camp because of the coronavirus. One participant was infected, the others had to be quarantined Home

Prague In Letiny in the Pilsen region, a coronavirus infection appeared in a children’s camp last week. One of the children who contracted a family member had a positive test for covid-19. All other participants in the camp were sent to a quarantine hygienist, but tests for coronavirus did not show infection. Michal Bartoš, the authorized director of the Pilsen Regional Hygiene Station, said this on Tuesday.

According to him, the infected child had no symptoms of the disease, the hygienists so-called shocked him when they received information from another region about a positive finding from his parent. The child was immediately isolated and taken away, the others were quarantined and tested and are negative, said the head of the hygiene station.

Due to the fact that the coronavirus concerned only one participant in the camp and he was taken away immediately, according to Bartoš, it was not necessary to take any measures in the village of Letiny. Its mayor Jaroslav Vraný said on Tuesday that the hygienists did not inform him about the closure of the camp due to coronavirus. According to him, the camp was on the border of the villages of Letiny and Skašov.

Czech Television (ČT) stated that the camp was closed for one of the participants due to coronavirus last week. This was also confirmed by the director of hygienists. According to him, the camp with 80 children and about 20 adults was closed as it neared the end. He added that hygienists did not have to deal with any similar case for children’s recovery events in the region.

The government has allowed summer children’s camps since the end of June under strict hygiene measures against the spread of coronavirus set by the Ministry of Health. Camps are allowed for a maximum of 500 participants, with tent camps there is a limit of 100 people. At the same time, according to the ministry’s instructions, children should not meet in larger groups. Camps must be adequately equipped with disinfectant, soap and running water. The kitchen staff must have a separate hygienic facility and a place must be reserved at the camp for possible isolation of children with a suspected infection.

According to estimates by the Czech Council of Children and Youth, about a tenth of the camps will take place this year less than a year ago.
