A man is pushed through a dishwasher in the Hofbräu festival tent while other guests film. The landlady is angry and emphasizes the immediate cleaning measures.

Munich – He pushes his friend through the machine by his bare feet. It comes out the other side shortly afterwards. Completely soaked, his shirt and leather pants shiny from the dishwater. The man was just being pushed through the beer mug cleaning system in the Hofbräu festival tent at the Oktoberfest. They’re not entirely clean!

The 13-second video was posted on September 24th Instagramchannel “Münchner Gesindel” uploaded – it received over 30,000 likes. On TikTok it can also be seen.

Oktoberfest video causes horror online

The reaction in the comments: a general “Bäääh”! “With an extra foot of mushroom in the next size for €15+,” writes one user. Another gets upset: “Congratulations to employees who would rather film something like that instead of holding the guy back! Thank you for so much hygiene care, dear hosts and city!”

You can see that it happened in the Hofbräu tent by looking at the beer mugs on the dishwasher. It is also clear: the campaign did not take place after the bar closed. In the background an employee is pouring beer into mugs. When he turns around, he only seems to notice the action. He smiles, somewhat perplexed, as the man climbs out of the machine. He scratches his head somewhat indecisively. It’s all crazy.

The Oktoberfest landlady is furious about the action

The Buam are having a lot of fun in the video – just like the surrounding party guests who are filming the action with their cell phones, hooting. Hofbräu tent landlady Silja Steinberg, on the other hand, is furious: “I find that impossible, I definitely don’t need something like that,” she tells our editorial team.

She asserts: “We immediately turned off the dishwasher, drained the water and ran it again. Then a technician had to open the machine and check whether the nozzles were all OK.” That took about 20 minutes, says Steinberg. “It was a huge effort.” Meanwhile, no jugs could be washed. “For us it’s just a waste of time and money.”

The landlady gave her counter team a good shake-up: “I told the waiters and everyone who worked there: That’s just not possible. In the future, everyone has to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.” So Silja Steinberg can only hope that this dishwashing process doesn’t find any imitators. There was already an action like this at the Oktoberfest in Munich – in 2019 in the Schützenzelt.
