HYENA: Sega and Creative Assembly’s Exciting Heist Extraction Looter Shooter Resurfaces with New Trailer and Closed Beta Announcement

Hyena, a heist extraction looter shooter from Sega and Creative Assembly, has resurfaced. The game was officially revealed a year ago after some leaks, but it had remained fairly quiet since then.

So until now. Not only has a new trailer appeared, it has also been announced that we can get started with a closed beta on PC from August 31 to September 11. You can register via Steam.

Hyenas is set in the future, when the rich of the earth have found their way to Mars. However, they miss the “merch” from on earth and that has suddenly become extremely valuable, especially since the earth has completely fallen into disrepair and there is not much left of that merch. You know, a Rubik’s Cube and things like that.

All that earthly merch is collected in a kind of space stores, although those shopping centers are known to players as Plunderships. For players, the idea is to steal as much of the best merch as possible in teams of three, but of course that doesn’t go without a fight, because your team isn’t the only one after that loot.
