Hydrologists predict a drop in water levels on the rivers of Belarus, reported at the Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Radioactive Contamination Control and Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
“On the rivers of Belarus, there is mainly a decrease in water levels with an intensity of 1-16 cm per day. On the Western Dvina near Vitebsk, on the Neman near Grodno, on the Dnieper near Mogilev and Zhlobin, on the Berezina near Bobruisk, on the Sozh near Krichev and Slavgorod, the water levels are below the marks limiting navigation,” Belhydromet said. The water is located on the floodplain on the Styr River, a tributary of the Pripyat, near the village of Lopatino.
The water temperature in the rivers ranges from 14 to 21 degrees. At the Vileika and Chigirinsky reservoirs, the water temperature is 18 degrees Celsius, Lake Naroch – 19 degrees, Lakes Lukomskoye, Drivyaty and the reservoirs Zaslavskoye, Soligorskoye and Krasnaya Sloboda – 20 degrees, Lake Chervonoe – 21 degrees.
According to hydrologists, in the next 5 days there will be a drop in water levels on the rivers of Belarus, as a result of which the water levels on the Dnieper near Rechitsa and Sozh near Gomel will drop below dangerous low levels that limit navigation.
