Hybrid work, the new normal?
Teleworking did not appear with the health crisis, but it has greatly contributed to its generalization. According to the international “Understanding Sound Experience” study commissioned by the company EPOS and carried out by IPSOS in March and April 2021, employees have globally integrated teleworking as a factor in their professional future: 36% believe that they will do more than telework than before the pandemic and only 26% think they will work mostly in the office. A more measured vision but just as striking on the side of the leaders, of which only 53% anticipate that a majority of the employees will work in the office in the future.
To collaborate well, the need for good get along
Hybrid work induces the multiplication of workplaces: in the office but also at home, in a café, a coworking space, transport, another place of residence … Environments that are not specifically designed for quiet work and which are often not equipped as professionally as in the office, between deficient audio equipment and soundproofing of spaces… variable.
From then on, technology is essential as a key factor in the success of projects: on the one hand, it allows customers to be presented with consistency in the quality of interactions, regardless of the interlocutor and their place of work; on the other hand, it quite simply allows the partners of a project (suppliers, colleagues, customers) to literally get along well and not to view long-distance interactions as moments of discomfort. According to the same study, 64% of end users believe that the audio quality offered by appropriate technological solutions enables them to capture important information, and 61% consider that the good audio quality of an exchange “underlines their professionalism”. And this is again without considering the well-being of employees, stressed or penalized during the loss of information or because of background noise that is difficult to bear when using high-quality consumer audio equipment that is not designed for professional use. So the equation is clear: the right audio equipment supports good customer relations, business growth, as well as productivity and employee satisfaction themselves.
Audio technologies, an easy investment for high returns
The “Understanding Sound Experience” study also underlines that for 83% of decision-makers, the poor quality of remote experiences has already been a problem. 20% of them specify that it is the cause of the dissatisfaction of some customers and 15% even state that audio malfunctions have resulted in a negative financial impact (loss of contract or market). In addition, every employee loses 31 minutes per week due to poor sound quality. The choice of equipment for quality audio solutions is therefore essential, as explained by Jeppe Dalberg-Larsen, president of EPOS, a company expert in high-end audio solutions for companies: “ There are concrete steps businesses can take to bridge the gap between working in the office and working remotely. It starts with making sure everyone’s voice is heard. (…) This is the condition sine qua non to enable us to negotiate the transition to the hybrid model and establish a new standard of professionalism. “A reality that seems well understood by business leaders since, according to the same study, 86% said they were considering acquiring new audio equipment as of next year. What to receive 5 out of 5, wherever you work.
