Official sales of Chinese Voyah Free crossovers on the Russian market began at the very end of last year, but at first dealers had only purely electric long range versions. Now a hybrid modification is also available, which the Russian importer called Voyah Free EVR. This is a plug-in series hybrid, which has been available in the Chinese market since the launch of the model. Freeand Russian “gray” dealers have already begun importing such cars.
Under the hood, a 1.5 petrol turbo four (108 hp, 192 Nm) is installed, which is not connected in any way with the wheels and operates exclusively in generator mode to recharge the traction battery. This engine can consume “ninety-second” gasoline, and only electronics is responsible for controlling it. The crossover is driven by two electric motors with a peak output of 693 hp. and 1040 Nm (347 hp each on the front and rear axles) versus 488 hp. and 750 Nm for the electric version of the Long Range.
The capacity of the lithium-ion traction battery in the hybrid is reduced from 106 to 33 kWh, the crossover can only travel 110 km on a full charge. But taking into account a full tank of gasoline (56 liters), the range of the WLTP cycle has increased from 500 to 674 km. The hybrid is not only more powerful, but also lighter than an electric car: the curb weight is 2290 kg versus 2340 kg. But the gain in dynamics is small: the acceleration time to “hundreds” is 4.5 s instead of 4.7 s, and the maximum speed is limited at the same mark of 200 km / h.
Outside and in the cabin, the hybrid is no different from the electric car. Their equipment is also the same: for Russia, only one rich equipment is provided with a leather interior, an electrochromic glass roof, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, front seat ventilation and other equipment. At the same time, the hybrid Voyah Free EVR is 700 thousand rubles cheaper than the electric one: the recommended price is 7 million 290 thousand rubles.
