Nissan’s delivery waiting time rose to 100 days, compared to 30 days for Toyota and 50 days for Honda, prompting Nissan to increase sales incentive payments, exceeding the industry average of 30%.
Nissan began cutting production in September by notifying dealers and suppliers. The reduction was originally planned to last until October, but will now last until December.
The company’s goal of selling 3.65 million vehicles in 2024 is now in jeopardy.
