Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian pointed out that business tourism has surprisingly returned to New York, since for the month of October they already have a 20% increase in reservations compared to the same period in 2019.

The CEO described the figures for the month of October as shocking as it will be a busy month, referring to Bill Gates’ comment in 2020, when he said that business travel would be reduced to 50% permanently.

However, Hoplamazian commented that the real growth has come from the leisure segment, which is normalizing seasonally, which is why he added that the sector is beginning to stabilize, as Hoplamazian indicated during his speech at Skift Global. Forums, as reported by Hotelsmag.

Likewise, Hoplamazian said that there is no evidence of significant falls in rates, despite the fact that there are important gaps in relation to pre-pandemic occupations.

As reported REPORTUR.usHyatt recently announced the opening in Florida (South Beach) for the first time of two luxury brand hotels Thompson, in April 2024, and Andaz, in 2025. (Hyatt debuts the luxury brands Thompson and Andaz in Florida).

The Thompson brand arrives for the first time in Florida, in South Beach. It will have 150 rooms with many windows, a rooftop pool, bar and restaurant, and commercial space on the first floor. The hotel was designed by French architect Rudy Ricciotti, and will be adjacent to the New World Center, and the recently renovated Miami Beach Convention Center.
