Hwang Sun-woo Makes History with Multiple Gold Medals at Hangzhou Asian Games

Hwang Sun-woo won the gold medal in the 200m freestyle at the Hangzhou Asian Games, achieving two gold medals.

Sunwoo Hwang beat rival Pan Zhanle in the finals held at the Olympic Sports Center swimming pool and was the first to hit the touchpad with a time of 1 minute 44.40 seconds, a new competition record.

Lee Ho-jun also came in third place with 1 minute 45.56 seconds, making Korean swimming produce two medalists in a single event for the first time in 21 years since the 2002 Busan Games.

Hwang Sun-woo also added a bronze medal in the mixed medley relay, becoming the first person to win five medals at a single Asian Games since Park Tae-hwan in 2010.

Eunji Lee took third place in the 200m and 100m backstroke, setting a record of two backstroke medals 37 years after Choi Yunhee.
