Coach Hwang Seon-hong selected Lee Kang-in, Jung Woo-young, and Eom Won-sang, who were substitutes in the semifinals against Uzbekistan and the previous match against China.
The Korean national team, with its elite starting lineup including Baek Seung-ho and Hong Hyun-seok in midfield, scored the first goal just 4 minutes into the game.
Jung Woo-young changed the direction of Eom Won-sang’s cross and hit the net.
However, in the 25th minute of the first half, Baek Seung-ho’s foul resulted in the national team giving Uzbekistan a free kick and allowing the equalizer.
Korea took the lead again in the 38th minute of the first half.
Baek Seung-ho’s head dropped the ball and Jung Woo-young scored a goal while Uzbekistan’s defense was faltering.
Korea finished the first half 2-1 thanks to Jung Woo-young’s multiple goals. In the second half, Lee Kang-in, Jung Woo-young, and Eom Won-sang were removed, and a new offensive line was formed with Song Min-gyu and Jeong Ho-yeon.
In the 27th minute of the second half, Korea gained a numerical advantage when an Uzbek player was sent off with a cumulative warning for a rough tackle.
They knocked on Uzbekistan’s goal until the end, but were unable to score an additional goal and advanced to the finals with a 2-1 win.
There is now only one final step left until Korea wins its third consecutive Asian Games title.
As Japan defeated Hong Kong 4-0 in the previous match, the final to be held this Saturday will be a fateful match between Korea and Japan.
