Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) middleweight champion Hwang In-soo (29) defeated Korea’s ‘standing champion’ and heavyweight Myeong Hyun-man (38). Then, he pointed out former UFC fighter Dong-hyeon Kim (42), “Mammy Kim”.
In the afternoon of the 25th at Goyang Gymnasium in Gyeonggi Province, Hwang In-soo won an unrestricted kickboxing match in the main event of Goobne Road FC 063.
The tournament began with a battle of words on social media between the two players. Hwang In-soo was confident that he could defeat Myung-hyeon in a non-MMA stage, and only Myung-hyeon accepted the challenge.
3 rounds of 4 minutes, 1 round of overtime, a confrontation that started with kickboxing rules. Myung Hyun-man and Hwang In-soo started the game wearing normal gloves, not open finger gloves.
Myung Hyun-man was ahead in kickboxing technique. He harassed Hwang In-soo with constant leg kicks.
However, Hwang In-soo, like the MMA Road FC middleweight champion, used his speed to solve the game. Hwang In-soo took the first down with a straight right punch with 15 seconds left in the first round.
In the second round, Myung Hyeon-man also raised his gear. He rushed recklessly even when under attack. Hwang In-soo stumbled at Myeong-hyeon’s own heavy punch. However, the seasoned Hwang In-soo measured the distance and threw punches with a quick dash.
After the start of the 3rd round, only Hwang In-soo and Myung-hyeon faced each other. Then, only Myeong-hyeon stopped the game. Myung Hyeon-man complained of a facial injury and showed signs that he could not play. In the end, Hwang In-soo won the victory over Myung Hyeon-man in 38 seconds of the third round.
After the game, Hwang In-su said, “Thank you to Myung Hyun-man for accepting the challenge first. Thank you for playing a wonderful game.”
Then, Hwang In-soo pointed out the next opponent. He officially requested to accept the match, saying, “I want to play against ‘Mamie Kim’ Kim Dong-hyun, who is said to be the strongest in Korea.”
Hwang In-soo strongly conveyed his desire to face off, saying, “Dong-hyun hyung and I are between an older brother and a younger brother, not between a priest and a priest.”
