That HV71 recruits John Nyberg has been an open secret.
Expressen has previously told about it and now it is official that it will be so.
Nyberg has previously played SHL hockey for Frölunda, Brynäs and Linköping. Now games await in his fourth SHL club.
– There have always been good matches when I have played here as an opponent, so I am really looking forward to having Husqvarna Garden as my home ground. I hope to contribute with a stable defensive and also be a threat in the offensive zone, says John Nyberg himself in a comment.
Recruited from the archrival
John Nyberg recently arrived from Linköping. He has been with the club for the past three seasons. In fact, he is coming off his best scoring season since returning to Sweden from the Dallas Stars organization in 2020.
But it is not primarily to score points that HV71 recruits him. But for a stable two-way game.
– In John we get a back who gives us security in the defensive, but also with an offensive upside and a good shot. He does not shy away from using his size and is happy to be active in the physical game, says Kent Norberg, director of sports in HV71, in a press release.
