Despite the investment brake, five applications for flood protection: Hüttlingen invests and presents a positive budget for 2022

The traditional Bechtoldsgemeinde Hüttlingen has been canceled due to the pandemic. That is why the municipal council is voting on the 2022 budget, the constant tax rate, five loan applications and other transactions at the ballot box – for the fourth time in a row.

The continuation of a tradition has to wait. Due to the pandemic, the local council of Hüttlingen canceled the traditional Bechtelis community from the beginning of January, for the second time after the one in 2020. This is the fourth time in a row that an urn vote will take place at a community meeting, “to allow all residents who are entitled to vote to vote on the items on the agenda to enable », argues the municipal council.

So the Hüttlingers will vote on January 9th at the ballot box about the current business, whereby the polling stations will be open as usual.

Marginal plus in the 2022 budget

In the budget for 2022, the municipal council expects a total expenditure of around 3.175 million francs with a marginal profit of 7450 francs. The message says:

“The municipal council has tried again to include only the absolutely necessary and known expenses in the budget.”

The pandemic has so far not had any negative effects on fiscal income, which is why the municipal council has taken the income from 2020 into account in the budget. Because of the higher tax rate since 2020, the weighting in the calculation of the financial equalization is no longer applicable, which, according to the embassy, results in a higher transfer income of around 82,000 francs in favor of the municipality. The local council is also requesting a constant tax rate of 60 percent in order to “reduce debt in the coming years,” he writes.

Investments mainly for flood protection

In the investment calculation, the municipality assumes net expenditure of around 553,000 francs, although it only wants to make urgently necessary investments due to the investment brake. The council does not want to postpone five loan applications. He writes:

«Flood protection is one of the focal points. The intense rainfall last summer showed the importance of a good flood supply. “

With the cost estimates, the municipal council does not want to include an excessive reserve in each case. That means that more credits would have to be provided retrospectively. In return, the population is automatically informed about the planned work, which means greater transparency.

The following investments are planned for 2022:

  • Kirchweg Hüttlingen, expansion of drainage, 170,000 francs.
  • Wasenstrasse Mettendorf, renovation, 120,000 francs.
  • Geigenhofstrasse Eschikofen, replacement sewer line, 120,000 francs.
  • Dorfbach Hüttlingen, flood protection, 234,000 francs.
  • Tobelbach Eschikofen, edition project, 90,000 francs.

As a further item on the agenda, the municipal council lists fees in the embassy, although electricity tariffs are not being voted on. In contrast to water, sewage and disposal, only the tariffs for EW are increasing.

In addition, the municipal council submits the regulations on the organization of the fire service association Am Wellenberg as well as the revised fire protection regulations for approval. As the other participating municipality, Felben-Wellhausen has already approved these applications.
