UNITED STATESShe shoots her husband live on Facebook
A 28-year-old woman was broadcasting an argument with her husband on social media when a shot went off. She was arrested on Saturday.
Internet users who followed a live video broadcast by Kadejah Brown witnessed a dramatic scene on Saturday morning. From her home in Columbus, Mississippi, the 28-year-old starts filming while she is in the middle of a conversation with her mother. Kadejah complains about her husband, whom she blames for never being home and not helping her with their children, who are believed to be four in number. Jeremy eventually gets home, but he’s on the phone.
The American continues to film and challenges her husband, trying to snatch the camera from him. “Don’t touch me, I’m going to call the police for that,” the 28-year-old man told him. Kadejah becomes more and more aggressive, and her mother gets involved in turn. “It’s your family, you’re supposed to be there to help, to take care of the children,” she says to her son-in-law. The tension continues to rise within the couple. The phone Kadejah is using to film is on the floor, and the screen goes black.
Kadejah’s mother can then be heard encouraging the couple to talk to each other, but a second later a gunshot rings out, followed instantly by horrified screams. “Oh shit, I don’t want to go to prison,” exclaims Kadejah, who has just shot her husband. Chaos settles in the room, between the crying of a child, the panicked cries of the victim’s mother-in-law and the amazement of the mother of the family. “I want daddy,” sobbed a small voice. “Your daddy is dead!” Kadejah responds screaming, before screaming for help.
“The shot is gone! I didn’t know it was loaded! Jeremy, no! I’m sorry, honey,” she sobbed. The mother of the family was arrested at the scene of the tragedy and imprisoned, reports WTOC. According to the Lowndes County Sheriff, the police had already intervened several times at the Brown home for acts of domestic violence. “This is a tragic and senseless murder. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family,” added Eddie Hawkins.
