Trying to avoid the sound of the previous two albums, this time Faith presents a serious self – analysis of the group ‘s previous work – the album Exile (2013) and their heartfelt debut album Happiness (2010).
The new album highlights several aspects of the band’s sound, such as the song Suffer goes into electronic euphoria, Voices is a step in a dramatic direction, while stadium – sized sounds can be heard in the song Somebody.
“If I had started all this, someone would have told me how consistent, powerful and authentic this album would be, I wouldn’t have believed it,” says multi-instrumentalist Adam Anderson.
Albums Faith was born in a crisis situation. Although Anderson has previously written openly about his mental health problems, sharing his experiences of anxiety and depression in an open letter in 2017, in the early recording sessions of this album, they were highlighted by vocalist Theo Huckraft’s experience with demons, which cast doubt on the band’s continued commitment. .
“I was absolutely exhausted physically and mentally,” Teo recounts of the period following the group’s last tour in 2018. “It led to a breaking point. I had to stop and do nothing for a moment because I couldn’t think anymore, I couldn’t focus. And I didn’t know what to expect in the future. I didn’t know if we would ever record another album.”
