Hurtigruten changes the home port of MS Richard With from Tromsø to Stokmarknes, writes NRK.
It is happening in connection with Hurtigruten’s 130th anniversary and on the same day that MS Richard With had its first departure, writes the state channel.
The news is naturally well received in the new home port.
– I must admit that I was simply very positively surprised. It is a very nice gesture to the home of Hurtigruta that it becomes the home name for this ship, says Stokmarknes mayor Åge Rusten’ to NRK.
The reason for the move is that Hurtigruten wants to honor the story behind Richard With, who was from Stokmarknes, says CEO of Hurtigruten Norway, Hedda Felin.
