Hürth: Truck driver with 2.5 per mille pulled from traffic

Police arrested a 49-year-old truck driver on Thursday. The alcohol test showed that the man had 2.5 per thousand alcohol in the blood.

Witnesses informed the police

According to the police, the man drove a semitrailer truck to the company premises of a forwarding company on Grubenstraße in Hürth-Knapsack around 6 p.m. It was agreed that the transporter would be unloaded at the goods acceptance point by 10:30 p.m. When approaching the ramp, witnesses noticed the unsafe driving style of the 49-year-old. When they asked him about it, the witnesses noticed a strong smell of alcohol on the man’s breath and then alerted the police.

The alcohol test of the officials showed the result of 2.5 per mille. The driver gave no information about the matter. An empty fruit brandy bottle and a partially empty rum bottle were secured in the driver’s cab. The 49-year-old is now facing criminal proceedings for drunk driving. (red)
