A powerful hurricane swept across Poland

Firefighters received more than 2.6 thousand calls – mainly regarding pumping water and removing fallen trees.

Poland was hit by a powerful hurricane, accompanied by heavy rain – now the Polish cities are flooded, there are fallen trees on the streets. About it informs RMF24 on Wednesday 23 June.

Since Tuesday afternoon, firefighters have been on call more than 2,600 times – more than 1,300 times in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. In the Małopolskie Voivodeship, they received more than 500 applications, in Mazowieckie – more than 300, and in the Lodz Voivodeship – 140. The work of the firemen consisted mainly in pumping water and removing fallen trees and branches.

In addition, hail passed over the central part of Malopolska. In Krakow alone, nearly 350 firefighter interventions are reported. The vast majority of events related to atmospheric events were related to the capital of the region. There were no casualties as a result of the bad weather.

In turn, a strong storm in Krakow caused difficulties in urban communication. Flooded tracks made it impossible for trams to move, and some streets were blocked by fallen trees.

In the Mazovian Voivodeship, the wind blew off four roofs and damaged 18. In Poznan, drivers were stuck in traffic jams for several hours because sections of the road were flooded.

In total, due to the storm, there were more than 23 thousand people without electricity in the evening.

Recall that earlier in Chicago tornado caused massive destruction… As a result of the bad weather, six people were injured, some residents were evacuated to shelters.

It was also reported that due to a storm in Alabama, two cars collided – ten people died, of which nine are children.
