“Hurricane of the century” scientists call the scale 5 storm named “Milton” which is currently hitting the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and in less than 36 hours it will hit Florida. Storm Milton sweeps up the northeast coast of Mexico.
It is the strongest cyclone of the last century and the northern areas of the Yucatan Peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico are at its mercy. The speed of the winds reaches 285 km per hour and the damage is great.
The inhabitants of the peninsula have sealed doors and windows, fishing boats are returning en masse to the ports. Hurricane Milton has strengthened to maximum intensity approaching Mexico and will hit Florida on Wednesday night into Thursday if it does not change course.
Florida governor’s call for evacuation
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor warns residents that if they don’t leave they will die: “It’s the storm of the century. Everyone in Tampa Bay has been notified time and time again. You must leave. It’s a matter of life and death.”
The Republican governor of America’s third most populous state, Ron DeSandis, is telling residents to leave while there is time: “You have time today, time is running out, but you have time today to make the decision to heed the evacuation orders and do whatever ,what you should do to protect yourself and your family”.

Dramatic warning Biden about the cyclone
On Tuesday afternoon (8/10), Joe Biden called on Florida residents to evacuate immediately, because as he said, it’s a matter of life and death.
Also, the US president, in an emergency meeting with his advisors at the White House, spoke of the “hurricane of the century”, declared Florida in a state of emergency and asked the airlines to take care of the evacuation of citizens and not proceed with revaluations.
