PM Modi also urged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh to join the relief and rescue efforts and help the local administration. During his address on the election victory at the BJP headquarters, the Prime Minister said, ‘Cyclone ‘Michong’ can affect the eastern coastal areas. The central government is in constant touch with the state governments and is helping them. He said, ‘I urge BJP workers in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Odisha and especially Andhra Pradesh to join the relief and rescue operations and help the local administration.’

He said he could not monitor the election results as he was busy monitoring the cyclone situation on the east coast of the country. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Spoke to Jagan Mohan Reddy and assured him of all possible help.
