Hurricane Dorian continues on its way! After having hit hard the archipelago of the Bahamas, costing the lives of 5 people and causing significant material damage, this cyclone now classified in category 4 out of 5 hits the American coast. Florida and Georgia have been placed on high alert and the authorities are on the verge of war. Fort Lauderdale Airport is closed as are the ports of Fort Lauderdale and Miami. According to forecasts from the American Hurricane Center (NHC), Dorian should then follow the US East Coast and move northwards, towards New York. Good news, however: the cyclone will gradually run out of steam.
The hurricane is easing
The hurricane is expected to approach New York during the day of Friday, September 6, 2019, causing very heavy rains. No worries, however: the eye of the cyclone will remain 300 km off New York and its effects will have been largely mitigated. The next day, Saturday, September 7, 2019, the sun will be back in New York. The forecasts for the week of September 10, 2019 are also rather good. More fear than harm for New York! And to occupy the rainy day on Friday, feel free to follow my advice and ideas on what to do when it rains in New York.
