Huracán defeated Belgrano 1-0 and regained the top spot in the Professional League

In an exciting match played at the Tomás Adolfo Ducó Stadium, Huracán defeated Belgrano 1-0 and once again placed themselves at the top of the 2024 Professional League. The goal that defined the match was scored by Williams Alarcón at 36 minutes of the first half.

The match was intense from the start, with Huracán dominating much of the first half. Alarcón’s goal came after a remarkable play: a backheel by Wanchope Ábila left the ball open for the Chilean to finish with his left foot, beating the rival goalkeeper and unleashing joy in the stands.

However, things got complicated for the Parque Patricios team in the second half. Guillermo Benítez was sent off for a second yellow card, forcing the team to play the last 20 minutes with one less man. Despite the adverse situation, Huracán managed to maintain its lead and secure the three points. The victory was even more important because, before the match began, Huracán was in fourth place in the table, due to the previous victories of its pursuers.

It is worth mentioning that, throughout the second half, after the expulsion, the intensity of the match decreased, and the team led by Frank Kudelka adjusted its approach to secure the result. Belgrano tried to take advantage of the numerical advantage, even creating dangerous situations, such as the corner in the 43rd minute of the second half, but they were unable to break through Huracán’s defense.

With this victory, Huracán has 25 points in 11 matches, consolidating its position in the 2024 Professional League and reaffirming its credentials as a serious contender for the title.

Athletic Tucuman 2-0 Students of La Plata

Atlético Tucumán temporarily climbed to the top of the Professional League thanks to the victory against Estudiantes de La Plata. The Decano won with authority in a duel in which it confirmed its magnificent present. After a first half without emotions, Facundo Sava’s team managed to open the scoring thanks to a penalty that Andrés Merlos sanctioned after reviewing the action on the monitor. The call from the VAR resulted in the maximum penalty with which Mateo Coronel touched the post to celebrate the 1-0.

Not content with the minimal advantage, the Colorado team continued to hurt the Pincha until Luciano Estigarribia rose in the Platense area and with a magnificent header sealed the 2-0. SARMIENTO 0-0 TIGER

Little has happened in the match that was expected of little. Sarmiento de Junín and Tigre faced each other at the Eva Perón stadium, in a key duel for permanence. And as both teams needed to add points, the distribution of points marked an armistice of a match that ended without emotions. The zero qualified the production of a fight that will be forgotten immediately.

Naturally, both Sebastián Domínguez and Israel Damonte were satisfied with avoiding defeat in a final in the red zone of the domestic competition. An individual performance by Gonzalo Maroni that ended with a shot against the crossbar, another offensive incursion that Chaco Insaurralde did not know how to take advantage of and an offside by Gudiño that deprived the Verde of a goal were the opportunities that could have changed the fate of a match that had no winners or losers.

Formations:

Sarmiento: Thyago Ayala; Facundo Roncaglia, Yair Arismendi, Franco Paredes, Juan Manuel Insaurralde; Manuel Garcia, Joaquin Gho, Emiliano Mendez, Nicolas Gaitan; Gabriel Gudiño and Ezequiel Naya. Coach: Israel Damonte.

Tigre: Felipe Zenobio; Martín Ortega, Brian Leizza, Nahuel Banegas, Nehuén Paz; Agustín Cardozo, Blas Armoa, Leonel Miranda, Tomas Galván, Gonzalo Maroni; and Florián Monzón. DT: Sebastián Domínguez.
