Last week, he still took care of the current affairs of the “Fédé” as if nothing had happened. The “rock” Jean-Paul Besson, who had been fighting for months against the disease, died this Wednesday, August 11 at the age of 77.
The Federation of hunters of the Rhône and the Metropolis of Lyon mourns a “fighter”, “a hyperinvested man”, according to the director of the FDC 69 Antoine Herrmann, “who never complained and did nothing by half”.
His desire to go beyond the clichés
President since 2007, he fought tirelessly to improve the image of the practice, – “in a very peaceful and reasoned way” – and to go beyond clichés.
This textile entrepreneur, who worked a lot for the training of hunters, was known to be intractable on safety.
Invested for Limonest
Jean-Paul Besson, a man of the field and of files, was also very involved in his municipality of Limonest, where he was a municipal councilor in 1989 before completing three deputy terms (1995-2001, 2001-2008 and 2008- 2015) to communication, culture and town planning.
“What characterized him is dedication,” explains the mayor, Max Vincent. Of course, he was first and foremost a nature lover, concerned about the environment and the preservation of species.
He knew the area like the back of his hand! But he was also someone very curious, open, who chaired the festival committee and always had lots of projects for the town. We will miss him. “
