August 26, 2019 was a big day in the life of hunter twin Kristine Thybo Hansen (31) and her boyfriend Robert Bjørklund (41). That day Bjørklund took courage and proposed to his beloved, with whom he today, almost three years later, has been together for eight years.
– It happened in the Swedish forests, and I just thought that Robert would go and get us a beer. Deaf, it was fun, Thybo Hansen tells Dagbladet.

Marries in November
It was VG who first mentioned that the two had become engaged. But to Dagbladet, the couple reveals that the date for the wedding is set for 19 November, and that it will be at their home place Nordreisa in Troms and Finnmark county.
– There will be an informal atmosphere. The most important thing is that we enjoy ourselves – and that the guests enjoy themselves. That it will be a great day for everyone. We are not exactly formal, so we do not intend to do it too stiff and pretty, Bjørklund tells Dagbladet, before they both continue:
– And then we think that the menu should reflect what we harvest and do. The dream scenario is that we ourselves have hunted, fished and harvested all the raw materials, but that may be unrealistic.

– So how did you betroth Robert?
– Kristine started talking earlier in the spring about that if I did not get engaged, she would be free when it was leap year. I thought I could not give her that joy there, so then there was no way around it, he says and laughs.
He continues:
– It was a great night. We sat there by the fire, had a few beers – and reminisced a bit when we met. As the mood approached the climax, I thought it was time. I was so nervous that my whole body trembled …
The hunters’ new family life
The ring was hidden in the jacket pocket, he says.
– So when she was going to get up to get some more drinks for us, I pushed her down in the chair, and that was when she thought I should just get beer. But I rather sat down on my knees, and then she got a ring on her finger as a replacement, he says and laughs.

– And what went through your mind in those seconds there?
– I was pretty sure she would answer yes. But it was a very special feeling and not something you do every day, exactly. The nerves were far above the ears, Bjørklund admits.

One of the very first to find out about the big event was Kristine’s twin sister Johanne. It became an emotional affair.
– We sent a “snap” of the ring, but both Johanne and mum did not believe it, they thought everything was a joke. But Johanne called us, and then she realized it was true. She began to cry. She cried more than me, I think, says Kristine Thybo Hansen, who is probably not as hard as many people think after seeing her on the TV screen.
