Art and fashion merged at Hunter Schafer for his attendance at GQ magazine’s Global Creativity Awards last Thursday, April 11. At 25 years old, the actress and model has garnered a great reputation at every event she is invited to thanks to her bold stylistic approach, and this time she was no exception. On the red carpet, she turned heads for her homage to Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic work, The Starry Night.
The centerpiece of her outfit was a floor-length dress, designed and customized by Marni. The garment was meticulously hand-painted in a style that evoked the technique and aesthetic of the Dutch painter, using thick brush strokes to create a visible, three-dimensional texture in shades of yellow, blue and white.

The creative work was led by Francesco Risso, creative director of the fashion house, who was also honored during the ceremony. This was not the first such work for the designer, as he previously created a similar outfit for Tracee Ellis Ross, which she wore at the New Museum’s Spring 2024 Gala, held on April 3.
The basis of Schafer’s look was a simple blue dress that served as a canvas for the painting process. Through Marni’s Instagram stories, images of the process were shared from the beginning, to the meticulous application process, carried out with a small metal tool that achieved the desired textured effect.
The actress chose a pair of pointed flat shoes, also worked by hand, which maintained stylistic consistency. Additionally, she opted for a hairstyle with straight locks reaching her waist.
Schafer, famous for her work in the series Euphoria and in the recent film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, was recognized along with Rossi during the event among “the most intrepid and inspiring creatives in the world.”

On the other hand, the performer recently appeared on the cover of GQ’s Creativity edition, where she revealed details about her love and professional life. The confessions included confirmation of a past romance with the pop singer Rosalía, which lasted five months during 2019.
The relationship, although short-lived, seems to have left a mark on both, transforming into a “really beautiful friendship.” “There has been so much speculation for so long. “Part of us just wants to get this over with, and then another part of us says, ‘No one’s business!’” Schafer said.

On several occasions, the couple appeared together at public events; specifically, in 2019, when she attended Rosalía’s companion at the Billboard Women in Music ceremony, where, in the midst of her recognition, she expressed her affection with words that until then had not been interpreted as romantic: “Thanks to my friend Hunter for Join me tonight. I love you a lot”.
During the interview he also talked about his high-profile relationship with another Euphoria member, Dominic Fike. After more than a year together, the couple separated in July 2023, an event she describes as “significant,” being the first man she has dated. “I had a really beautiful relationship, and it really opened me up in that sense,” she recounted. Currently single, Schafer explained that she is in a process of recovery and self-discovery, so she wants to “make sure she is okay at all times before jumping into something else.”
On a professional level, Euphoria’s future remains uncertain due to her indefinite delay, but that doesn’t stop her. Schafer has her participation in the film Kind of Kindness, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Emma Stone, the duo behind Poor Creatures.
