While it is revealed that she had a love affair with Rosalía, Hunter Schafer speaks about the aftermath of her career.
In an interview with GQ magazine, Hunter Schafer, famous for his role in the hit series “Euphoria”, opened up about various aspects of his life. Love, career, identity and transgender roles, the 25-year-old young woman has a lot to tell us.
She confides in her particular strategy that she adopts regarding her career and the roles that are offered to her: “It took me a long time to understand that I didn’t want to be reduced to that [sa transidentité]I find it humiliating for me and for what I want to do.”
It hasn’t always been easy as she points out: “I’ve worked so hard to get to where I am, overcoming these very difficult moments of my transition, and now I just want to be a girl and finally move forward.” By deliberately refusing transgender roles, the actress hopes to reflect a more complete image of who she is, beyond just her gender identity.
Later in the interview, Schafer nuances and shares his feeling of guilt for not taking his role as a “spokesperson” more seriously: “Ultimately, I firmly believe that by not always putting this at the forefront , this can allow us to progress. I think that accepting exciting projects that I enjoy is much more interesting for the “cause” than talking about it all day long.”
Even if season 3 of “Euphoria” promises to be more and more uncertain, we hope to soon find Jules, the role played by Hunter in the series.
