Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Chinese brand, Infinix, is being hunted by the Indonesian people. In a report by research firm Counterpoint, the company’s products are the only smartphone vendor to experience positive shipment growth in Q2-2023.
Counterpoint noted that the company posted an increase of up to 17% year-on-year (YoY) compared to Q2-2022, quoted from the report Counterpoint Monthly Indonesia Smartphone Tracker Friday (25/8/2023).
According to the report, Infinix focuses on products priced at IDR 3 million. The vendor is also said to offer better HP specifications on the model.
Marketing activities are also carried out aggressively by Infinix, with the aim of increasing awareness of them. Meanwhile, the series that contributed to Infinix were the Note 30, Hot 30 and Smart 7.
In the same report, other compact smartphone vendors experienced a decline in the same quarter. Oppo, for example, experienced a decrease of up to 2% and Samsung 11%.
Meanwhile, Vivo became the brand with the biggest decline, reaching 23% and Realme by 22%. Meanwhile, shipments of Xiaomi cellphones decreased by 12%.
For the market share itself, Infinix pocketed 10%, up 2% from Q2-2022. The market leader in Q2-2023 was Oppo with 21%, which was up 2% from the previous year.
For Samsung, the market share is 19%. Meanwhile, Xiaomi and Realme pocketed 17% and 15%.
