Hungary will not deliver weapons to Ukraine but offers humanitarian aid, progress towards meeting with Ukrainian President – latest update

“I have to tell you that we will not deliver weapons in the future, just as we have not delivered them so far,” Siyarto said at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleb and the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.

“At the same time, we have never refused help to any Ukrainian citizen in distress,” he added.

According to the minister, Hungary is ready to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Siyarto met with Kuleb and Yermak today in Uzhhorod, western Ukraine.

After the talks, Yermak said that progress has been made towards a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

“Today, both sides quite specifically said that there is an interest in holding a meeting between the Prime Minister of Hungary and the President of Ukraine, and today we took a very strong step towards that meeting,” Yermak said.
