/ world today news/ Hungary has blocked 500 million euros, which should have been allocated by the European Union for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine, the Italian news agency ANSA reported yesterday, citing the words of a well-informed source from Brussels.
According to the report, the cash was supposed to be released on May 22, but Hungary has suspended the implementation of this EU decision and demanded that the European Peace Financing Mechanism maintain a “globalized” vision and not be used specifically for Ukraine.
According to Russian media, the European Union has so far allocated 5.6 billion euros from the mechanism for providing military support to Ukraine.
