Hungary expels two Iranian students with coronavirus

Two Iranian students with the new coronavirus have been expelled from Hungary and the European Union for failing to comply with the hospital quarantine order, the Interior Ministry announced on Friday. “The two Iranian nationals with student status in Hungary were expelled. The two men left the quarantine room of the National Institute of Hematology and Infectious Disease at the Pest Sud central hospital, without authorization or protective clothing“the ministry said in a statement.

Hungary also accuses the two students of their aggressiveness towards the medical personnel of the establishment where they had been placed in solitary confinement. The expulsion order will not be executed before their state of health allows it, the ministry added. It is accompanied by a stay ban in Hungary for three years. Nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban linked immigration to the new coronavirus on Friday, “introduced by foreigners and spread among them“Hungary has so far reported 19 cases of infection with the virus causing the Covid-19 pandemic, and more than half have been identified among Iranians receiving a grant from the Hungarian government.
