Hungary believes that the West should give security guarantees to Russia and not include Ukraine in NATO. This was stated by the head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary Gergely Guyash.
“The Western world, which supports Ukraine, should provide security guarantees to Russia, but in no case NATO membership to Ukrainians,” declared Gergey Guyash. His words are quoted by the MTI agency.
Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will be effective only with the participation of the United States, the head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary believes. In his opinion, Kyiv will not be able to regain the territories that were ceded to the Russian Federation during the conflict.
Earlier, former US national security adviser John Bolton said that Russian President Vladimir Putin could offer Ukraine negotiation. However, this will happen only in the event of an unsuccessful counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
