/ world today news/ Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó met yesterday with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov at the ministerial meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
In a statement after the talk, Szijjártó said that maintaining a stable, predictable and fair cooperation between Hungary and Russia is in the interest of both countries. The Hungarian government rejects any pressure to end such cooperation.
In his statement, Szijjártó emphasized that Lavrov had guaranteed that Russia and Russian companies would fully fulfill their obligations under the signed contracts and provide the necessary oil and natural gas as planned.
On the issue of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Szijjártó pointed out that Hungary supports maintaining open communication channels in all international organizations, and also supports an early ceasefire and the start of peace talks.
