Hungarian Foreign Minister: European arms supplies to Ukraine will prolong the conflict –

/ world today news/ On April 24, the 27 foreign ministers of the European Union countries met in Luxembourg to discuss issues such as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the situation in Sudan. According to Hungarian media reports the same day, the country’s foreign minister, Peter Szijjártó, told the meeting that providing Ukraine with weapons from EU countries would only prolong the conflict further.

According to Szijjarto, currently the vast majority of EU countries still support “using more funds and providing more weapons to Ukraine as soon as possible”, but this will not help a ceasefire and a peace agreement. Hungary wants to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible.

“We oppose additional EU sanctions against Russia, as Hungary’s energy supply security is already facing serious challenges,” the Hungarian foreign minister added.
