Hungarian Aero may buy Vodochodské Aero, the antitrust authority decided

“The Office stated that the assessed merger of competitors will not increase the market power of the merged competitors to such an extent that it leads to the creation or strengthening of a dominant position of the merging competitors or any of them, which would result in significant distortions of competition,” said Office spokesman Martin Švanda. .

The Penta Investments Group, which still owned Aero Vodochody, announced its sale in June this year. Neither party disclosed the value of the transaction.

Entrepreneur András Tombor owns a 51 percent stake in Aero Investments Partners. The remaining 49 percent is held by the Omnipol Group.

The Omnipol Group, in which the Hávov family holds a majority stake, will be responsible for the exercise of managerial rights at Aero Vodochody.

The transaction does not include the company Letiště Vodochody, which remains in the possession of Penta Investments. However, Aero can still use the airport.

András Tombor is a Hungarian businessman and investor. Among other things, it owns the company Atmedia, which sells advertising space on Hungarian television.

Aero Vodochody employs around 1,350 people. It focuses on the development, production, maintenance and improvement of civil and military aircraft and is the largest aircraft manufacturer in the Czech Republic and one of the oldest aircraft manufacturers in the world. During its century-long existence, the company has produced about 11,000 aircraft.
