15,000 saplings distributed in the Trakia region
I will plant the chokeberry, the apple and the quince in a village in the yard, and the maple and spruce – in front of the block.
With these words Vasil Penev, one of the hundreds waiting, received the saplings in the park “2019” of the Plovdiv region “Trakia” and set out to settle them.
He was one of many on the tail that twisted. The most impatient came at 8 am, although the action of “Gorata.bg” was announced at 10 o’clock. The initiator Nikola Rakhnev personally attended the distribution of the 15,000 trees. Environmentalists from the district administration helped.
Maple, spruce, pine, plum, quince, apple, chokeberry were the most sought after. While the parents waited in line, their children played on the swings and slides in the park. No one was rearranging, everyone was at a distance.
Environmentalists from the mayor’s office explained that municipal ordinances forbid the planting of fruit trees in the city. Those who reached out to them assured that they would take them to the village and put them in their yards.
“Thank you for your patience. You plant a tree – you grow a future,” Rakhnev told each, handing over the saplings. People gratefully took them.
“In front of our entrance is a beautiful garden. We maintain it ourselves. In the warm spring, summer and autumn days we gather to relax. By planting maple and pine trees now, in time it will become even more beautiful,” said Kina Veleva. According to her, now is the time to do so – in late autumn or early spring.
Many praised the initiative, which is essentially noble. So far, Gorata.bg has distributed and planted over 1 million trees across the country. In the spring there was a similar action in “Thrace”, which was of great interest.
No one rearranged anyone, nor did they argue about which trees to give him.
