Several hundred people, of all ages, some dressed in folk costumes, carrying icons and banners with anti-LGBT messages, but also against public figures who support the LGBT community marched on Saturday through the center of the capital, the demonstration, organized by the New Right, preceding Bucharest Pride.
The demonstrators participating in the Normality March gathered from 12:00 in Victoriei Square, the established travel route being Lascăr Catargiu Blvd. – Roman Square – Gheorghe Magheru Blvd. – Nicolae Bălcescu Blvd. – University Square- ICBrătianu Blvd intersection with str Doamnei, on the sidewalk – Halelor street, on the sidewalk – Splaiul Independenţei – the foot of the slope on Aleea Colina Bucuriei (Dealul Patriarhiei).
The march was attended by people of all ages – families with children, teenagers, the elderly. Some of them wore icons, others banners with anti-LGBT messages.
The messages written on the signs were: “NO LGBT”, “NO to the promotion of gender ideology”, “Stop partnerships, marriages, homosexual adoptions”, “Ancestors sacrificed themselves for Greater Romania, not for homosexual marriages”.
Another category of messages referred to public figures accused of supporting the LGBT community, among those targeted were the British ambassador to Bucharest Andrew Noble and the MEP Dacian Cioloş.
Some of the protesters were dressed in folk costumes.
Among those who crossed the center of the capital, speaking out against what they call the “traditional family” were priests.
According to the announced program, until 17:00, when Bucharest Pride begins, the manifestation of the LGBT community, the march organized by the New Right ends, and the participants must already leave the route.
