Minnetonka Communities Pay Tribute
MINNETONKA, Minn. – The Minnesota communities of Minnetonka and Jordan united in an overwhelming display of respect yesterday, as the hearse carrying the bodies of two slain Burnsville police officers, Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge, passed through. These brave officers, both just 27 years old, tragically lost their lives while responding to a domestic call in Burnsville on Sunday. The hearse carrying their bodies was escorted by hundreds of first responders, who stood in solemn salute, and American flags were proudly flown on overpasses to honor these fallen heroes.
The Lives Taken Too Soon
Elmstrand and Ruge were not the only lives tragically cut short that day. Paramedic Adam Finseth also lost his life during this horrific incident. The three first responders are currently resting at the funeral home, where they will be accompanied by their fellow service members until the time of their funerals.

The Burnsville community, joined by people from all over Minnesota, is extending heartfelt support to the grieving families. City officials in Burnsville have set up a way for people to directly contribute monetary assistance to the families through the Law Enforcement Labor Services Benevolent Fund.
