Hundreds of West Ham supporters portaged from the quarter

West Ham United take on Bundesliga reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen away from home in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

Leverkusen’s home stadium holds 30,000 spectators, and the London side have been allocated 1,790 plates in the away section.

Not enough, according to hundreds of West Ham supporters who chose to become members of Bayer Leverkusen in order to buy tickets in the home sections.

A move that the organizer found out about, and now the supporters have been ported for security reasons, according to the Daily Mail.

Bayern Munich’s away fans were banned from yesterday’s meeting with Arsenal, after supporters of the team threw pyrotechnics during the round of 16 tie against Lazio.

However, a Bayern fan got hold of a ticket in the Arsenal sections, and was allegedly beaten in connection with the match, according to British media.

Over 3,000 West Ham supporters are expected to travel to Germany for the match, which will be played tomorrow with kick-off at 9pm.
