On July 5, hundreds of union members, youth, volunteers and soldiers from Vinh Long Provincial Police donated 7 units of blood under the “Red Journey – Connecting Vietnamese Blood” program, and on July 280, the “Rose Drops on Vinh Long” blood donation festival was held. Country” in 2024.
This is a program implemented by the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation as part of the Summer Blood Drop Campaign and the 2024th Red Journey Program.
According to the organizers, the “Red Journey” program, with the mission of connecting Vietnamese blood, has saved millions of lives in recent years. The program aims to spread red blood, overcome anemia to treat diseases in summer and respond to the nationwide campaign.
After more than a decade of organizing, Red Journey has become the largest voluntary blood donation campaign in Vietnam, making an important contribution to ensuring blood supplies to patients and raising awareness about blood donation.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Central Red Journey Program and General Manager of VTVCORP Joint Stock Company, the program is a union of compassionate hearts full of passion and enthusiasm for volunteer blood. There are tens of thousands of volunteers across the country who have joined forces to ignite the fire of love. In 2024, the Red Journey program will be held in 51 provinces and cities and is expected to receive about 120,000 units of blood.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also announced the establishment of the Reserve Blood Donor Club, also known as the Live Blood Bank, and the 25 Club, in which 25 people with rare blood gather to donate blood voluntarily under the Provincial Steering Committee of the Province.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, Vice Chairperson of the Vinh Long Provincial People’s Committee, said that blood and blood products play a very important role in emergency care and disease treatment. Recently, the province’s voluntary blood donation work has received wide approval from sectors, levels and the whole society, attracting a large number of officials, union members, youth, volunteers and people to participate and are happy with the response.
“Today’s Red Journey program is a living testimony that shows the great determination of the steering committee at all levels and the provincial volunteer forces to respond to the largest humanitarian movement in the world. I believe that in the coming period, with the tradition of mutual love, loving others as if we loved ourselves, and the willingness to help each other in difficult times, the blood donation movement and blood donation campaign in the region will continue to achieve great results,” said Ms. Thanh.
