The funeral of Jacky Baroche took place on Friday 23 December in the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Chartres.
Founder and then honorary president of the Free Commune of Saint-Brice, Jacky Baroche, born on August 5, 1939 (named Jacques before being nicknamed Jacky) died on December 13, aged 83, in the Pasteur du Coudray hospital.

Hundreds of people were in attendance for this moving ceremony. Among them, many relatives, members of the association and elected officials, such as Jean-Pierre Gorges. The mayor of Chartres took the floor to pay a vibrant tribute to Jacky Baroche.
“A Protector”
Philippe Baroche, brother of Jacky Baroche, retraced with emotion the life of the man he called a “protector”. Even James Guyot, current president of the Libero Comune, paid homage to the memory of his predecessor.
A former butcher-restaurant in the Saint-Brice district, Jacky Baroche was elected mayor of the free commune of Saint-Brice on November 7, 1980. He is the founder of this association which has organized numerous festive events over the past forty years.
From the Beauceron festival to the dog festival, passing through the horse festival, marked by the participation of the Republican Guard, up to the harvest festival in the last fifteen years.
