Hundreds of people demonstrated in Larnaca in support of Palestinians

Arabs, Egyptians, Iraqis and citizens from other Arab countries living in Cyprus attended the march.

Protesters carried Palestinian flags, chanted slogans and held banners and photos depicting the harsh situation in the Gaza Strip.

Police officers in uniform and anti-riot gear escorted the protesters from the beginning of Athinon Street to the castle.

There were also plainclothes police officers in the area, and police water cannons were also nearby.

The march was also covered by foreign news channels.

Protesters chanted slogans such as ‘Freedom for Palestine’, ‘Gaza has become a river full of blood’ and ‘hearts are crying for you, Gaza’.

The event was organized by the Cyprus Palestinian Women’s Union.

Organizers said in a statement earlier that they aimed to protest “the crimes committed against our people in Gaza, affecting children, women, the elderly and even our trees.”
