Hundreds of cosmic objects with strange orbits beyond Neptune

Many of the newly discovered objects come from the Khyber belt, a distant part of the solar system filled with icy bodies.

Nationalgeographic.co.id—For more than six years, astronomers and scientists have been searching outer space. The effort is attached to 461 newly discovered objects beyond Neptune. These objects are more than 230 astronomical units (AU) from the Sun. An astronomical unit (AU) is the distance from Earth to the Sun, about 93 million miles, or 149.6 million kilometers.

New observations using data from the Dark Energy Survey have been mapping galaxies and the dark matter structure of the universe since 2013. Observations made with the help of the Blanco Telescope at Cerro Tololo, Chile over the past six years have found 817 confirmed objects. However, 461 objects still require confirmation.

According to reports Scientific warning, The results of a six-year study of these materials were first published on the preprint server arXiv. The paper was submitted to the press peer reviews.
