The son of the legendary actor Humprey Bogart has spoken negatively about the new film Jungle Cruise. Disney compared their theme park attraction film to Bogart’s classic The African Queen (and have also been greatly inspired by this), but according to Stephen Bogart this goes too far.
For example, Stephen says: ”I don’t know Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, but he seems like a really cool guy. He always works hard and it looks like he has delivered another fun movie with Jungle Cruise. I will definitely see him”.
Not to compare
”However, I don’t see Jungle Cruise as a continuation of The African Queenhe continues. ”I don’t think Johnson is trying to be my dad because that’s just too hard”.
The African Queen appeared in 1951 and was very well received. Not only did the Humprey Bogart star in the movie (and won an Oscar for it), the iconic Katharine Hepburn can also be seen in it. Now, 70 years later, the film is being released again. Stephen Bogart talks about that too.
”I have no intention of offending anyone, but I don’t think Jungle Cruise is going to be a classic the size of The African Queen. I don’t think this new movie will be re-released in 70 years…”
