The album “Interkurss” is the second studio album of the group “Pirmais kurss”, as written by the members of the group themselves, “a musical reflection in 14 parts about the beauty of love and misery in the lives of young men.”
“Love will win everything, it will be able to find a way to” matrize “- even in these difficult times,” says Dāvis Mazurenko (guitar, vocals). “The album combines the common, different and important things of all the members of the band. It tells about leisure, travel, computer games, relationships and, of course, girls,” adds Francis Upaciers (guitar, vocals). Alexander Okonov (keys, vocals) has a more philosophical vision of the album’s message, who describes the album in the words of Juris Rubins: “Life is a change.” Sometimes it is painful. Sometimes it is beautiful. But usually both together. “
Each participant had the task to write their own song and perform it. For example, Valdis Avotiņš’s song “About the Gauja” addresses Aleksandrs Okonovs since the first hearing: “The velvety vocals of Valdis Avotiņš lead through Latvian landscapes and hurt deep pain.
The album “Interkurss” includes 14 compositions – musical reflections written over two years. “There are a lot of 14 songs in one album, but we once again proved that we will never finish,” says Davis Mazurenko. Why more songs were not included – Alexander Okonov reveals: “14 is the only number that is multiplied by two and then subtracted from fourteen to fourteen. Many do not know this, but it has a big connection with the number 7, which is the number of kebab boxes used by group member Kārlis The dwarf (keys, bass, vocals) can eat in one day (24 hours). Not everyone can. “
The authors of the lyrics and music of the album “Interkurss” are members of the group “First Course”. Song mix – Arnis Račinskis, masters – Kaspars Ansons and Krišjānis Geidāns. Dainis Porgants – voice in the song “Kaa lai sazvanu?”, Kaspars Grigalis – drums in the songs “Follower” and “Love Hurts”. Arnis Račinskis – producer of songs “Miedziņš”, “Deserts” and “Mērce”, Dāvis Mazurenko has produced songs “Izbrauciens”, “Šāviens”, “Virtuālā” and “Avansā”. Jānis Aišpurs has produced the song “Love Festival”.
Francis Upaciers (guitar, vocals), Aleksandrs Okonovs (keys, vocals), Kārlis Zemītis (keys, bass, vocals) and Dāvis Mazurenko (guitar, vocals) play in the group.
