ROMA – AS Roma coach, Jose Mourinho very annoyed with the players after being defeated Juventus 3-4 in the match of week 21 of the Italian League 2021-2022 on Monday (10/1/2022) early morning WIB. How could I not, had a 3-1 lead until the 60’s minute, then suddenly Rome just lost 3-4 at the end of the match.
Harsh words then came out of the mouth of the Portuguese coach after the game ended. He also insulted the Roma players who had a weak mentality because they could not maintain their advantage in the middle of the second half.
Roma took the lead through goals from Tammy Abraham (11′), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (48′) and Lorenzo Pellegrini (53′). However, Juventus managed to gain full points through goals from Paulo Dybala (18′), Manuel Locatelli (70′), Dejan Kulusevski (72′) and Mattia De Sciglio (77′).
After being hit by the sad comeback, Mourinho was furious. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid coach said that his players were too good and had no mentality.
Unmitigated, Mourinho also said harsh words at the post-match press conference. The coach nicknamed The Special One said that his team was in a heap of dirt after failing to maintain their lead.
“In the end, when you’re in the middle of a pile of shit. You can just get up and show your character. But there are a group of people in our dressing room who are too good, mentally weak,” said Mourinho.
“I told the players if they managed to kill the game in the 70th minute it would be a great performance. Unfortunately that didn’t happen,” added Mourinho.
