Humberto Tan returns as a talk show host at RTL. The 55-year-old presenter will get a talk show on Sunday evening from next year, the channel announced on Friday.
Tan will form a presentation trio with Eva Jinek and Beau van Erven Dorens, the current talk show presenters on RTL 4. It is not yet clear when he will start.
In the sports summer of 2021, Tan will be responsible for the presentation during the week. In the program he talks to his guests about current events, sports, entertainment, art and culture.
55-year-old Tan already hosted the talk show from 2013 to 2018 RTL Late Night on RTL 4. Due to declining viewing figures, he was replaced in 2018 by Twan Huys, who left within a year. Since then Jinek and Van Erven Dorens have been presenting the talk show on the commercial channel.
“I am very happy that Humberto Tan has a place again in the late evening”, said Peter van der Vorst, director of content at RTL Nederland. “He has more than proven in the past that he belongs there. We now have a super trio with Eva, Beau and Humberto with whom we can have the talk of the day all year round.”
Tan says he is “pleasantly surprised” with the request from Van der Vorst to return as a talk show host. “At the same time, I find it exciting, because a lot has changed: the location, the time and for the time being without an audience in the studio. But I’m going to make an interesting program for the viewer with my guests.”
