The threat is the world’s most advanced human-shaped robot,” the company said and its creators say it could serve as a platform for the development of future robotic technologies.

“The reason to make a robot that looks like a person is to interact with people,” said Will Jackson, CEO of Engineered Arts, in an interview with Reuters at the time. “That’s why we built these expressive robots.”

The humanoid robot will be available for rent at events and for sales, remembering that at the moment it is not yet able to walk.

“Walking is a difficult task for a robot, and while we’ve done research on it, we haven’t created a complete walking humanoid.” Morgan Roe, COO of Enginnered Arts, says it will be at least 10 years before a robot like Ameca can walk among us.
